Disa uniflora grows in places on Table Mountain where there is perennial water. Many other Disa species are found on the mountain and elsewhere in the Cape peninsula. D. graminifolia, D. cornuta, D. glandulosa, D. longicornu, D. maculata and various other Disas can all be found growing in the vicinity of D. uniflora (sometimes just a short distance away), but they are generally much more difficult to grow and require specific and entirely different growing conditions.
A friendly warning: Do not ever try to grow these "difficult" Disas until you know more about them. Some of them have never been successfully cultivated even by the most expert Disa growers! |
